What does the inch number measure
It is the diagonal of the screen. A 27-inch monitor has a 27-inch (68.58cm) diagonal, not a 27-inch width. That is why two 27-inch screens are not the same width when the aspect ratio differs — 59.8cm at 16:9, 63cm at 21:9. What decides whether it fits on your desk is that width, not the diagonal.

Dual monitor setup — how wide a desk do you need
Two 27-inch screens pushed together are 119.6cm of screen alone. Four bezels are added on top of that, thickness differs by model, and stands reach further out than the panel does. So treat this number as a minimum and leave some room when you pick a desk.
What changes when you pivot a screen
Width and height swap places. A 27-inch 16:9 turned upright is 33.6cm wide and 59.8cm tall. That is close to half the width, so putting one screen in portrait on a narrow desk is a layout you can try here first.
About the 21:9 and 32:9 labels
The ratio printed on the product is what we calculate with. The panels themselves are 64:27 at 2560×1080 and 43:18 at 3440×1440, so they differ from the 21:9 label below the decimal point. On a 34-inch that is 79.4cm against 79.7cm — 0.3cm apart. Close enough to plan a layout, but check the width × height in the product spec when you need exact numbers.
How is the share link built
Share builds a link that carries the values you entered. Opening it fills the same fields and shows the result right away, so the person you sent it to does not have to type anything. The values are plain to see in the address, so editing the link by hand is fine too — anything out of range simply opens the empty calculator.
